I’m Jess and I’m super excited to welcome everyone to JDK Fitness. I’ve been working in the leisure and fitness industry for 16 years now and I’m more passionate about helping others from a fitness point of view than I have ever been before.
At 16 years old, I started by working at the local leisure centre leading kids activities at the weekend. This then lead to lifeguarding withing the swimming pool facilities and then getting my gym qualifications. After working in the gym and training individuals to meet their goals, I then wanted to start teaching groups in fitness classes. I’ve taught various types of fitness classes, such as Zumba, Spinning, Circuits, LBT etc. When I was 19 years old, I became a Duty Manager at the Leisure Centre, which was a completely different learning curve in both managing a team and also a huge site. This extended further when a refurbishment of the leisure centre took place in 2011 – I had the task of developing a brand new functions and events business!
7 years ago, I was head-hunted in to a new role, where I became an Events Director for one of the biggest European sports management companies, organising mass participation cycling events in the UK. My portfolio includes World Championship qualifier events for amateur cyclists and the National Road Championships for the professionals.
But going back a little bit….. In August 2017, we welcomed Luna in to the World. Like most new Mum’s, I couldn’t wait to get back in to shape, back to my pre-baby body and back in to those jeans! So I went and tried a Bounce and Burn class when she was just 6 weeks old.
I fell in love…. So much so, I came home and ordered 20 trampolines and set up my own classes. I’ve never looked back. I even bounced until I was 8 months pregnant with Eva, who was born in February 2019.
I’ve seen first hand how amazing a mini trampoline workout is, not just for me but for everyone who’s been coming along and having great fun with me. I love seeing change, goals being smashed, confidence being lifted and just huge smiles from having fun.
